The Women’s Bible Study group and Prayer NetJoin us every Monday 10-11am at Church of the Mountains (weather and road conditions permitting) Judy Jensen, the gourp leader welcomes everyone to participate. We read and discuss the books we have chosen in an informal discussion and look forward to spending time and sharing our faith with one another. We pray as an introduction to our study—and we close with prayer. We just completed a study book by Priscilla Shirer called THE ARMOR OF GOD and are currently beginning Shannon Bream’s book entitled THE-MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS OF THE BIBLE SPEAK: Lessons on Faith from Nine Biblical Families. Our group are also members of the Prayer Net and welcome requests that come to us through the larger church body. Any questions? Reach out to Judy at 530-448-6474 or church email comumc@sbcglobal.net ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Gathering of Spiritual Leaders
This past week Pastor Vicki attended Gathering of Spiritual Leaders in Livermore, CA. There was Bible study, workshops and plenary sessions. The theme of the Conference was "Hope For the Future." Bishop Williamston from the Louisiana Annual Conference said we need to raise the ceiling of our Hope; raise the bar of our churches. She said, "We can raise the church ceiling of our love. Don't give up on Hope. Hang on to our hope when we're going through the Valley of dry bones. Remember Hope shines brightest in the dark." She quoted the famous hymn, "The Solid Rock." The song in part says "My Hope is built on nothing less than Jesus . . . On Christ the Solid Rock I stand; all other ground is sinking sand." Her words were encouraging and inspirational. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts." - Colossians 3:16 |
